“China, Japan, and South Korea experienced a unique domestic development that scholars refer to as ‘developmental model’, and this model showed to be very successful. Drawing from that experience, they have been playing important roles as leading donor countries in the international development cooperation regime, promoting their own development cooperation model to many developing countries across the world. However, each model has a different context, focus, rationale, motivation, and objective.”
