“For the Trump administration, China’s being defined not as a rival, but as an enemy. It would be interesting to understand the effect of the incoming 10% tariffs as a protection towards the export of economic distortion coming from Beijing. They may actually generate a forced positive trend in terms of trade and investment from China into the region. And this this will increase the role of PRC, maybe also creating a sort of dependency.”
