How the world will look in future is a topic of interest for all of us, whether we want to make smart investment choices, prepare for the unexpected or create art. We understand that the future is shaped by our choices and by the trends and forces that are set in motion today. These are the driving forces. Some driving forces have greater impact, affecting all levels of society and causing substantial changes, while with some others there is a high level of uncertainty as to what their impact and their future relevance may be.
[IT] Il 23 marzo 2020, mentre il virus COVID-19 si diffondeva in tutto il mondo e il lockdown teneva in casa gli Italiani, il Segretario Generale delle Nazioni Unite, António Guterres, chiedeva un immediato cessate il fuoco globale. Al pari del sentimento di solidarietà e comunità, che entrava nelle nostre case dai balconi e che ci faceva pensare, ingenuamente, a un mondo post-pandemia migliore di quello che ci eravamo lasciati alle spalle, il Segretario Generale auspicava che, se accolto, il suo appello potesse permettere alla comunità internazionale di concentrarsi sulle sfide poste dalla pandemia e, perché no, fornire un’opportunità per mettere fine ai conflitti in corso in modo diplomatico.
